Mary K. Huycke
Mary Huycke is the executive director of Courageous Space. She is passionate about leadership and helping people live authentic, creative lives. Mary loves leading people and groups beyond their fears and preconceived notions about what's possible and into deep presence and creative community. Coaching/Reflective Supervision is Mary's third "career."
An ordained elder in the United Methodist Church, Pacific Northwest conference, Mary twice served as a District Superintendent as well as a local church pastor in a variety of settings including redevelopment and a new church start. Prior to that she owned and managed a small apartment building while being an "at-home" mom and classroom volunteer. Each chapter of Mary's life has surfaced and developed new skills and led her to challenge her own preconceived notions about what's possible.
Certified as a professional co-active coach in 2003 through the Coaches Training Institute. Mary completed the advanced Organization and Relationship Systems Coaching core curriculum (100 hours) in 2004 and has been coaching clergy, judicatory leaders and church leaders ever since. She holds diplomas in individual and group reflective pastoral supervision from Wesley House, Cambridge and is affiliated with the U.S. based Centre for Creative Supervision. She has co-authored (as Mary K. Sellon) three books in the area of congregational development and leadership: Pathways to Renewal, Practicing Right Relationship, Redeveloping the Congregation, and was a contributor to When a Congregation is Betrayed. She's a certified administrator of The Leadership Circle Profile and Full Circle Group's Leadership System/
