What is personal
Coaching?
The goal of coaching is to help you fulfill your mission and calling - with
greater impact, greater ease... and with a greater sense of fulfillment.
Coaching challenges you to focus on what you truly want to achieve through your
life and ministry. It supports you as you create the steps that will move you
in that direction...and provides the structure you need to get it done.
Coaching provides you with tools that sharpen your awareness of the life you’re
living, so you can really live it. Your sense of purpose and call is strengthened.
Your experience of God is deepened. You learn ways to recognize, name, and deal
with what within you blocks and sabotages you.
Coaching helps you live authentically. You gain clarity about the values that are most important to you...and find support as you align your life and work in a way that honors those values. Coaching calls you to be intentional about who you being in your life, as well as what you are doing.
A coach is different from a mentor or consultant who brings answers with him or her. Coaching differs from counseling or therapy which is designed to heal, often by conversations about the past. Coaching focuses on the present and the future. It helps you be an intentional and responsible participant in what God is doing through your life.
When
might you work with a coach?
Whenever you are:
...and committed to doing something about it!
The coaching relationship challenges, motivates, and encourages you to approach your life with curiosity, creativity and choice and live it authentically and intentionally.
How does it work? Regular coaching conversations on the telephone about the daily challenges of life and ministry are the doorway to addressing your larger goals and the changes you want to make in your life. You bring to each session an issue you want coaching around. Together we explore what's possible and seemingly impossible and build an action plan for how to address the issue in a way consistent with your values, your calling, and your goals.
