About Mary (Sellon) Huycke

Mary (Sellon) Huycke is a certified professional, co-active coach who has been trained and certified through an ICF (International Coach Federation) accredited school. She is an ordained minister in the United Methodist Church. She has pastored, resourced and coached churches, pastors and judicatories engaged in development and redevelopment. She also serves as co-district superintendent in a district of the Pacific Northwest Conference of the United Methodist Church.

Mary's specialty is helping groups and teams grow in their effectiveness by honing their focus and developing their ability to work as a collaborative and generative team . As a personal coach, she works primarily in 2 areas. The first is with women pastors who are at a transition point in their ministry, first appointment, last appointment, stepping into a new role or a new church. Her second area of expertise is coaching pastors who are working a revitalization process in their congregation.

Mary has coauthored Pathway to Renewal: Practical Steps for Congregations, (The Alban Institute 2008), Practicing Right Relationship. (The Alban Institute, 2005) and Redeveloping the Congregation, (The Alban Institute 2003) and is a contributor to When a Congregation is Betrayed, (The Alban Institute 2006).
